This work marks the first appearance of the LYNX, a recurring personal
symbol representing my inner child. Resting within an eye, it inhabits a
dreamt place of comfort and peace. Butterflies hatch upward - in reverse to
the natural process, representing an accelerated unfolding of
transformation. In retrospect, the painting became the symbolic beginning
of a profound period of inner change and the visual language that
continues throughout my work.
